I believe the only reason it dragged on so long was because he started out doing a good job at first. Old customers just ordered again without looking at the end of the thread and new customers just looked ab the beginning or first few pages and then ordered.
It probably would have gone on longer but somebody finally reported the thread and after I looked at it I suspended it until we could figure out what was going on.

When you lay it out like that, it does look pretty bad for Harry. I would have banned him too.
I may have been blinded by the great results that he gave me in the past. But as you pointed out, we've seen this type of thing before. In fact, it's shockingly similar to the BLF fiasco.
The banning was not really for the crappy service it was more because he never responded. There have been a couple of other sales threads that were canceled because they had problems that did not end in a ban. The part of the whole thing that I found most problematic was after his post on 28 Dec. He came on, said he would fix the problem and give out refunds and then nothing ever happened. Up to that point you could write it off as someone who accepted too many orders and was having a problem dealing with them.
We do not really moderate the classified section as far as quality control unless somebody makes a complaint and then we look into it. There was a thread in the last week or so where somebody thought sellers offers should be vetted by a mod before allowing them to sell. Some forums do that and it does help weed out a fair amount of low quality offers Personally I have mixed feeling about the idea. It makes it harder for someone just starting out but on the other hand if you can not afford to give away a test run of your product you may well not have the resources to be able to handle your customers.
In this case though it would not have made any difference because he did a good job in the beginning.
Well if nothing else I hope everyone gets their money back.
