You're absolutely right. The pattern started well before his supposed vacation. It's why I never placed any additional orders with him. And seriously, how many parts of the world these days don't have email and internet? It's too bad really, because the results were awesome.

I believe the only reason it dragged on so long was because he started out doing a good job at first. Old customers just ordered again without looking at the end of the thread and new customers just looked ab the beginning or first few pages and then ordered.

It probably would have gone on longer but somebody finally reported the thread and after I looked at it I suspended it until we could figure out what was going on.

    K9,

When you lay it out like that, it does look pretty bad for Harry.  I would have banned him too.

I may have been blinded by the great results that he gave me in the past.  But as you pointed out, we've seen this type of thing before.  In fact, it's shockingly similar to the BLF fiasco.

The banning was not really for the crappy service it was more because he never responded. There have been a couple of other sales threads that were canceled because they had problems that did not end in a ban. The part of the whole thing that I found most problematic was after his post on 28 Dec. He came on, said he would fix the problem and give out refunds and then nothing ever happened. Up to that point you could write it off as someone who accepted too many orders and was having a problem dealing with them.

We do not really moderate the classified section as far as quality control unless somebody makes a complaint and then we look into it. There was a thread in the last week or so where somebody thought sellers offers should be vetted by a mod before allowing them to sell. Some forums do that and it does help weed out a fair amount of low quality offers  Personally I have mixed feeling about the idea. It makes it harder for someone just starting out but on the other hand if you can not afford to give away a test run of your product you may well not have the resources to be able to handle your customers.

In this case though it would not have made any difference because he did a good job in the beginning.

Well if nothing else I hope everyone gets their money back.

I haven’t heard back from Harry sense the 26th when he said he would do the package for free. I can’t find the original thread (perhaps its deleted)so not sure how long his service took. This is one of those things that I really shouldn’t let get to me and its certainly only because its a free offer, but it is slowly irking me again because he went out of his way to say he would fulfill and make good on this, but perhaps he’s weighing the pros and cons of doing these for free, and without a guarantee he will get his thread back maybe he’s just going to give up.. I’ll probably just write this off myself as never happening because Its wasting my energy. Goos faba, Goos fraba.

Yes, he did give me my refund so I’m really not out anything other than some time, but felt he would make good on the inconvenience caused, and so did some other people. ah well, I’m done with it now.

Well this is the 2nd time I feel silly. First time Harry refunded my money an hour after i posted, this time I complained
about not getting my freebie and he sends me my reports 1 hour after i posted..

I only spot checked the reports but they look in order, also noticed a date of some posts being
3 days ago so he didn't jump on it only because i posted today..

Wow, things sure have changed a lot since I last logged on. Hope everyone is able to get their money back.  I ordered a couple of packages from Harry last year. Had no problems at all. His service could be slow at times, but I knew he was swamped with orders.

I got a private email from Harry a week ago letting me know about a new package he was offering. I ordered a review copy and last week and my report was delivered this morning. Hope everything works out for Harry, his service was one of the best I've used.

Well he did make good to me on this, hope he does with others as well. I emailed him after he sent my reports for the 2 free packages to thank him and based on his reply i got the impression he doesn't really care if he gets his account at TP reactivated because he said its only a small part of his business and he just wanted to make sure he made good to customers that got inconvenienced.

Harry used to be legit, but I recently got an email from him pitching a new service - in it, I really feel he should've addressed this ish.

I won't say reasoning is completely irrelevant, but to a certain point it's moot....wether its you or a va, the owner is in charge of the va and owns the business etc, you either have your shit together or you do not, period.
