I generally use one email account for each round of account creation.

    Gotcha. Thanks ARVolund.

If I have multiple sites within the same industry (so articles would be similar types of content), can I use the same web 2.0 properties to promote all of the sites? Only talking about 6-7 different sites.

And I take it that it's a good idea to not be too aggressive with the backlinks? Post a few articles with no links first? Then should I hold it to just a couple per article?

    Sorry for all the questions.

As long as the sites are all in related niches there is nothing wrong with using the accounts for more than one site. Just be careful about leaving a footprint.  I generally only add one or two links to my articles and a lot of times I will create the articles and then go back and leave the links later on new accounts.

Not a web 2 account, but Amazon S3 also let's you use their authority domain. sign up at Amazon S3, upload some static HTML files. http://s3.amazonaws.com is PR 7.

Also cpanel shared web hosting accounts let you use their authority domain. For example: http://gator658.hostgator.com/~mhart/
Hostgator.com is also PR 7. There are also other high PR hosting companies working the same way.

And also we can use the free online backup services (like Dropbox) to upload and publish static HTML files. Google indexes these, and you gain some authority due to the authority of the root domain (similar to web 2 sites).
