    Hello,

I need help from the pros on this one !..I'm about to go nuts !!

Ok..here is what is going on..for the last 2 months..every single exact match domain I buy and try to rank ..go's no where !

They all start off getting indexed most of the time in less than a hour..but never rank.

    1. I have a shared host account

    2. I buy domains from Go Daddy

    3. Most are exact match..if not they just have an x or a.. v at the end.

    4. I know seo....I'm not a newbie :-)

I think that Google may be watching the new domain registrations...and for some reason does not want my sites listed in the results..but for some reason Indexes them..I know this sounds crazy !..but It's what I think is going on...never ever had this problem before...please HELP !

    @phil

For starters Phil, you didn't give us enough information.  Paint a better picture of what your sites look like.  How many pages?  How much content on the page?  Where did you get the content for the pages?  Have you done any link building?  How?

Plus, an exact match with an x or v at the end is not the same as an exact match.  And Google won't see that as an exact match either.  Neither will Bing.  So, for those sites you don't have an exact match.  You simply have the keywords in the domain.  That helps, but it is not the same.

Part of the reason that EMD's work is because when you type those keywords exactly, Google and Bing think that you might actually be searching for thatsite.com.  That is part of the reason why they show EMD.  They really can't tell whether you are searching for the brand itself or searching for keywords.  I hope you understand what I mean there.

Anyway, provide more info.  Give as much info as you can and a timeline for how it all unfolded.

    Hi Ted,

Ok.. the new sites are exact match domains.. very low competion using MS..so far the sites have one page of 100 % unique content about 700-800 words..on page seo is perfect..I purchased the domains 3 days ago..both was indexed in less than hour..I waited one day then sent 25 bookmarks to one..and none to the other just to see if it made a difference.

Now the thing about all of this is I have other sites that did the same...and they are like a month old and still not showing in the top 1000...sommthing is not right..I have never had problems ranking sites out of the gate in the top 100...this is wierd !

I'm going to throw something silly out here to check on.... If these are Wordpress sites, check and make sure you have checked the box in the dashboard -privacy that says - Let search engines index this blog.

I can't remember the last time I tried to get a website to rank with only one page on it.  It had to be years ago.  Indexed - yes no prob, but ranking ....?

I would add a couple pages with decent content to one of the sites.   On one of the pages, add in a phrase that is Gobbly Gook with misspellings like Das un honey's muffinburger I'm shmelling.  Once you publish the page, immediately go to Twitter and tweet the URL for it.  Or throw one link at it from some page that has PR.  Or do both for good measure.

Then go to Google and search for that exact phrase  "das un honey's muffinburger I'm shmelling" or whatever phrase you choose to use.  You should make up your own phrase by the way.  It should be a phrase that does not exist on any page on the internet right now.

Search for that phrase multiple times.   This tells Google that hey "I just discovered a new phrase people are searching for"  Google is then immediately on the lookout for any appearances of that phrase on the internet.  When it crawls your page and finds that phrase, it will index that page.

You should then be able to find it in the search results if you do that exact phrase search again.    I have had pages indexed in 2 minutes using this method on sites that already had juice.  But that was probably because the site had juice already.  In your case, maybe it will take 2 days.

I have a feeling that once you have a few pages of unique content indexed, that domain might pop into the SERPs.  Once you publish those new pages, visit some ping service and ping the URLs.  Pingout.com will work.

I don't know what else to tell you without looking at some actual examples.  Maybe someone else will have better ideas.   It is probably one of those things that a person would have to look at.

Ok a few things here, for starters it seems early days even for low comp keywords.  You definitely need to work on more content on these sites, my thinnest sites are like 7-8 pages. Then look at some more backlinks from different sources and you should be there.

This may have worked before but things seem to be changing a little quicker these days so you need to keep up ;)

I am not sure if it is an backlink age thing or if I am completely out to lunch but I find it takes quite a bit longer than before to rank any sort of term now than before.

I agree with you..I remember when you could buy an exact match domain post a 500-1000 word article and rank in the top 100 in no more than 2 days..not anymore.

Maybe the panda update prevents new sites or exact match domain sites.. from ranking in the top 1000 for a certain time frame now..man I wish I knew.

Phil, Google is looking for bigger websites these days. I would try adding an about us page, a privacy policy, and any other generic page you can think of (a contact us page, etc) on there. Then add links with your keyword as anchor to your main page from these pages. See if that helps put them on the map.

I don't think it has anything to do with timeframe, it's just that trying to rank a new PR N/A one-page site isn't going to go over well these days. Add more content, and quality backlinks

    Spanner in the Works...

Google is NOT looking for multiple page domains... that's a myth, and I can prove it, I have several one page domains ranking #1 and also chasing competing ONE PAGE domains that have been ranking #1 for MONTHS... and this is in VERY competitive niches.

So, let's not perpetuate a myth about what Google is searching for or not.

The search engines use an algorithm, and that's all there is... (this topic for another discussion).

I'd say, add your site to MS and Google webmaster tools, create a sitemap, throw in the mandatory about us and privacy policy pages, and add analytics, that should legitimize the sites.
Analytics should give you a bird's eyeview of the bounce-rate you are (if any traffic at all) receiving.

Also, diversify your backlinks... I'd start with ALN type of backlinks for about 30 - 45 days, interspaced with high PR blog comments.

That should give you some vava-voom...

    Hope this helps...

So you have END, and good content, but what about SEO? What are you doing for SEO?

And what do you mean when you say "go's no where !". Your sites get deindexed, or don't move in SERPs?
