    Hello,

Hey.. I just wanted to ask the pros on here about doing a 301 redirect from a domain in my go daddy account ?

Say I have a domain that has age and links..if I point that domain to my new site will that give my site a boost ? ..and should I make it temp or permanent  301 redirect ?

That's how the redirect works, though no idea how big of a boost it can give you if it's in a different niche. Also I think you need to have the domains on different hostings for better effect. I always use the 301.

You want to use the permanent 301 if you want to get any benefit.

Thanks Guys..so do you think it's better to 301 redirect the domain from just my godaddy account... or build a site on the domain from my host account then redirect ?

The aged domain will give your site a good boost for sure! But before doing that, post a 500+ words article on the aged site which is related to your niche. Get the article and the aged site as well indexed. THEN do 301.

hey guys, just researching this topic and found this thread. i was able to acquire a three-word-keyword.org domain, about 10 yrs old.
the domain was always used as a 301 redirect to a money site. it never had any content posted or any backlinks.

should i just 301 redirect to our money site? or post an article with keywords linked to our site and then 301 redirect? or create a blog and post articles routinely there with links to our site and backlink the hell out of this new site?
is it possible to backlink to a domain that immediately leads to another domain? (never tried that)
what would have the most impact?

Make it a 301 (not a 302) and in most cases it will give you a boost.

    Yes you can do both.

For you guys saying build the site up before doing a 301 what is the reasoning behind this? Do you really get an extra benefit? Once the 301 is created Google is going to ignore anything on that domain. Do you get a bigger boost if you do add related content first?

I build a website and then rank it. Typically I build about 4 or 5 sites and see which one ranks best and then do a 301.

Interesting.  So do you redirect to a brand new domain that has your keywords, or are you redirecting to another aged domain?  Or how do you choose which domain to be your "money site"?

I've bought aged domains with high PR and have just re-purposed it as the money site even though the original domain isnt relevant at all to the content I add to it...with success. I've also used aged domains to redirect (301 from the host htaccess) to the other aged domain and it has seemed to work just fine. Is it better to do it at the registrar?
Have you lost rankings? Sites de-indexed? I can get them all back...GUARANTEED! PM me for more info.
