Hi all,
I'm in the process of setting up my Tier 2 links to point to some high PR links that i've created as part of my Tier 1. I was just wondering if I should use the same anchor text as Tier 1 and Tier 2, or if I should use different anchors between the Tiers?
My thinking is if I have an established sites that already has lots of links that it would be ok to use the same anchor. But low competition keywords where I don't have many links should probably be different.
Just curious what others do.
Thanks!

I generally use about 75% the keyword I am targeting with that tier and 25% related or variations .

Pretty much agree with OP and ARV.
I mix a lot of different anchor text on links to money site, but find it works better to hit the tier 1 links with more concentrated anchor text. Not much variation. 75% sounds like a good number.
Although I don't really draw the distinction between older and new sites. If it's tier2 to tier1, you might as well use the keywords. You're not worried about oop on the linking sites

For tier 1, I usually don't go as high as 75% as it doesn't seem to be as effective.
For tier 2, I'm more liberal with variation. Maybe only 15-30% exact match.

For tier 2 I usually use SB as backlinks and don't really care about the anchor text, so I use the random names what it provides. Might be bad sue me
