    Hi,
I need to create a seo report for a client of mine.  I have never done this before.

Hence I was wondering if anyone has any good formats or tools they can share or recommend.

    Thank you,

    Kachaloo

It depends really what you have agreed and what they want. I beleive rank tracker has a report in the paid version.

I would generally supply a ranking report and either a list of links built and what keywords they are targeting or more of a general overview like x number of these links targeting this keyword etc

Then another section on social media carried out, another section on paid targeted adverts and then any other section based on what you do with them.

Most do not look too much into it do make sure you do a good bit of headline figures showing increase in SERPS and increase in traffic, conversions and anything else you track for them.

SEO is much more than just what keywords are ranking in what position.

What you need to include are usability fixes, check canonical pages, see if the information architecture is easy for google to read etc. An SEO report should include any improvments to the website that can help with rankings.

Also some analytics reporting should be included. For example, rankings aren't as important as traffic and conversions. You can use the analytics data to help your client know which keywords to focus on.

Anyway take a look at danny dover's book. http://www.dannydover.com/search-engine-optimization-secrets/. The web page even lincudes 2 sample SEO audit reports. You should use this as a template.

PM me if you want some more tips.
