Hi, straight to the Question :

I have a site that is promoting Amazon Product.. Now I am thinking to add a Page where I will add Amazon astore.. So The store will work on my domain as an Iframe.. What do you think about this as an Seo point of view..

    I have Two options :

1- Embed Astore in My site like I wrote above.

2- Embed astore in another Domain and link it from my site

    What do you think ?

I used option 2 for years, until last october when several sites got whacked with manual penalty, with message in wmt about "doorway pages".

Changed most of my sites that get good traffic so the all now have the store embedded in site with iframe.

It is a bit of work to make them all look good aesthetically, but didn't seem to hurt the seo/rankings for any.

Pretty sure the will be less penalized now as they can't be seen as doorway pages.

I sell my own products in my own store, so not maybe not exactly the same as an amazon store...

Hello, i don't think that iframe is a good idea if you want to rank on Search engines.

Hello, any reasoning behind that statement, or is it a feeling, guess, or something you heard someone say somewhere?

    Well,

The problems with iFrames for SEO is that any content that lives in the iframe doesn’t exist on the page. Essentially, the iFrame is it’s own page which lives separately. As a result, the corresponding iFrame content will not be counted towards the page where it appears.

Ok.  So you have some stuff on your page that is hosted somewhere else, and your page doesn't "get credit" for it.

How does that hurt the rankings of your page?

IF you didn't have any other content, or very little other content on the page other than the iframe content, I would agree.

But doesn't sound like what the OP meant.
