"Doorway Pages" and Opt In Boxes

Now, I want to start building a list. Will I get slapped by Google for doorway pages if I put the same opt in code on each of those sites? If so, is there any way to avoid it?
I would assume even through manual review, an opt in box would hold up, even if it's on each site?
Hoping someone has some experience with this.
Thank you!

What I would do is start building an authority site and point these 100 mini niche sites to it directly, if you have that many sites within a general niche and the content is any good you should start ranking pretty fast and have 100 backlinks instantly assuming you are not hosting these on all 1 server which would be a no no. Instead of having 100 optins ( and worrying about google) you can put the optin on your authority site instead.
No monthly fees, 1 click updates, dropbox backups all from one dashboard.

Let's say I prefer to keep these things as is. Do you know of anyone getting hit with a doorway penalty due to opt in boxes? My sites are all almost a year old, so I'm assuming they're fine in Google's eyes right now. I was just hoping someone had some experience with this.

I tried that (and always do - posting a thread is a last resort). I found tons of information about the doorway page penalty, but nothing in regards to email opt in boxes. If you had some experience with this, I would really love to hear from you.

Yeah, that's an excellent point. I couldn't find anything about optins and doorway pages on their forums or anywhere on the net for that matter. I assume you would hear about it if it was a problem. I do need to make sure I have enough content above the fold between Adsense and the opt in, though. Thank you!

However on of the ways I find networks of my competitors (for no other reason than knowing and understanding)
Is I look for similarities in the sites.
Such as publisher ID #
I know its a pain and more work but if I can find networks this way so can G and your competitors.
Not all competitors keep quite about it as I recently found out, although I am quite paranoid at the moment.,
