My resort site, for a resort our family owns, is not in that competitive a niche.
I have gotten top 3 rankings on most of the major kws I want to rank for after one year. the other resorts are pretty clueless about backlinks

Honestly I dont have high PR backlinks, its all PR0 PR1, and I dont have a lot of them either, maybe 100 backlinks

I am happy since we recently went to number 2 on a 10,000 exact searches per month kw in our area, its the number one searched for term.

Should I blast the site with 200 soc bookmark backlinks? I am certain that If I do this I wont maintain doing this velocity, I may just add a few links sometimes. The site is 1 yr old. Would adding these backlinks help if I dont maintain the backlink amount or velocity?

Adding 200 links is a good idea and if it was me I would be doing a lot more than that.

If you are only going to add in 200 my suggestion would be to do it more gradually.

What types of links are we talking about?

I personally wouldn't give into the temptation!!! More isn't always better. If you looking to secure the top spot for that KW then focus on quality either by obtaining high PR links or by building a link pyramid with about 10 URLs on your first tier and blast those 10 URLs with as many links as you want.

I have had best results when I have used unique content on my first tier, but a well spun article will do the job as well!

    I have mixed feelings.

bk are usually useless but everybody uses them. I use them only to avoid being spotted for non natural link building.

I think your best chance is to try to match your competitor backlinks. It's old school, but there is very little risk.

Ok I missed that you were talking about bookmarks the first read through.

I would go ahead and do it but spread it out over a few days.

One thing to remember about bookmarks is that while they are effective they do seem to have a shelf life. They seem to give a 30-60 day boost and then need to be repeated.

Don't waste your time or your 5 bucks... seriously!!! Bkmrks are like the lowest of the low when it comes to quality... I only use them on my 2nd tier sites. PLEASE dnt fall for that fiverr crap. There are a few good 5ver gigs, but I find the best are the ones that dnt involve SEO ;)

While I am not going to defend any fiver gig as I have never used anyone from there Bookmarks can and do actually help your rankings I use them on a semi-regular basis and get pretty good results.

i Know these BL might be low quality however
all of my BL are mostly PR0 anyways, adding 200 BL from different IPs and different domains certainly cant hurt
    my main question was

practically no BL for one year, then 200 in 10 days
    no red flags?

Seriously dude 20 links a day or 200 links a day is not going to raise any color flag. It is not even enough to bother a brand new site with zero links.

I actually ordered this fiverr gig, then today I put it on hold
I only ahve about 50 backlinks to this site, and its a year old. I am afraid this guy will blast my site with 200 backlinks in one day
and even if they are all not indexed at one time, google might kick my site down. There is a guy on the main board on warrior forum who blasted a page with 1000 backlinks after it already had 3 yrs old and 40k backlinks. so you would think that wouldnt bring a pentalty, his sit got kicked down like 10 pages

Not buying it.... I have hit multiple sites with 2k one day blasts and every time I get a positive response from Google. Not always big but I have not one time had a site drop like that.

A three year old site that already has 40k links there is no chance in hell that 1k bookmarks killed that site.

Travman- I have no personal gripe against you, but in the future please do not hijack my threads to grind your axe against GOY. I know you don't like him and that is fine. Keep that to yourself and your own threads. Your inability to control yourself has gotten my thread locked down now which tends to piss me off. Please try to exercise some restraint in the future. Thanks.

Sorry I had to lock it down. I thought about just deleting the off topic posts but to be honest I did not feel like working that hard this morning and it was on its way to getting truly ugly.
