I'm wondering what you guys see as the biggest challenge when it comes to finding, choosing and buying old/expired/auction/non-auction domains.
Share your frustrations, thoughts regarding current challenges? Also, what features these current tools are lacking?

Don't get me wrong it's a great tool..... but I want FULL COVERAGE with no hassle!
It doesn't remove duplicates properly and I want to use more sources than it has so i want to import ahrefs data and other etc. It's fine as it can be done, but it takes too long to do when you're researching 100's of domains AND you still have the duplicate url issue!
Also if a site has 10k backlinks or more it hangs forever.... seriously like hours on a PV with a good processor and 4Gb of Ram!
As mentioned on the other thread - hosting is a serious challenge!

Don't lie....you're making Lando do all of that now aren't you?
Biggest problem for me, is that I simply don't buy enough to feel comfortable enough with the whole process. I am getting more comfortable with creating mini sites and then building PR given prices etc.

No, in all honesty it's a fair split between me and Lando.
I research, buy, host, install WP, and send to lando to set up. I also deal with hacked sites or moving sites when a host goes missing!

I hate the time it takes when at auction, yes I am impatient!! I much prefer going to a broker but even they are hard to find although I am happy to pay that bit more as I know my time is worth more than the extra few $$

What data do you often find missing in one place?
(plus search by anchor text, ranking keyword, PR, Age, backlinks, Edu links, Gov links and more)

Anyone know if I am able to get it reindexed if the pagerank will still be intact?

In my experience, it is more cost effective to move on and purchase a new domain rather than try and rescue the de-indexed version. I do throw up some unique content before letting it sit, but its generally pretty hard (again IME) to bring it back.

I find most of the time it will regain PR, get a shit load of content on the homepage, like 5 1k posts over a week and it should come back. Sometimes it doesn't but always worth a shot!

Was it deindexed or did it just lose it's visible PR in the toolbar?
You'll probably find that if you add content the visible PR will come back in a day or 2.

Yes agreed, if you're buying just a few sites.......
Yesterday I was looking at a new niche with 80k EXACT searches in the UK alone, with a £3.50 CPC.
I noticed a 4 month old site on page 1 who has heavily been doing HPBL's. He has about 300 PR4 or higher sites, and clearly they have helped for a highly competitive niche!
When i analysed the backlinks of his backlinks....... I couldn't believe how bad they were. I wouldn't pay $10 for any of his PR4+ backlink sites. I mean seriously they were terrible. If the toolbar showed PR0 rather than PR6 for these sites I wouldn't disbelieve it!
So it seems to be that even really bad HPBL's still work.......
Needless to say (given I have access to my own high quality network), that I've already found an aged domain to buy, and will be entering that niche before the week is out!

You can buy 300 articles on multiple platforms, build links to them - strong & mass, and have the same result. This way, you won't marry the provider and save a few bucks in the long term.

I have developed an automated domain auction sniper.
You set filters such as domain extension, number of backlinks, PR range, domain lenght, etc.. max price.
And it works 24/7 bidding at the last moment and sniping domains for me.
Obviously such program in hands of many people would drive the market crazy (the prices for PR5 are already redicoulous)
that's why I keep it private.
If I decided to release it, how much would you guys pay for such service?
