I'm sure some of you are as frustrated as me, over how time consuming buying domains really is.

I'm wondering what you guys see as the biggest challenge when it comes to finding, choosing and buying old/expired/auction/non-auction domains.

Easy one. SEO Spyglass drives me crazy!

Don't get me wrong it's a great tool..... but I want FULL COVERAGE with no hassle!

It doesn't remove duplicates properly and I want to use more sources than it has so i want to import ahrefs data and other etc. It's fine as it can be done, but it takes too long to do when you're researching 100's of domains AND you still have the duplicate url issue!

Also if a site has 10k backlinks or more it hangs forever.... seriously like hours on a PV with a good processor and 4Gb of Ram!

As mentioned on the other thread - hosting is a serious challenge!

    NR-

Don't lie....you're making Lando do all of that now aren't you?

Biggest problem for me, is that I simply don't buy enough to feel comfortable enough with the whole process. I am getting more comfortable with creating mini sites and then building PR given prices etc.

    I wish Mark! ;)

No, in all honesty it's a fair split between me and Lando.

I research, buy, host, install WP, and send to lando to set up. I also deal with hacked sites or moving sites when a host goes missing!

i have always found that most places only give 50% of the info that I need. Then you have to work thu the many other places to get all of the info. Why isnt there just one place - or does that info take too much space?

Find a good broker, pay him for his time - check his list, buy, done.

    Your time is valuable.

It can take an age to find suitable domains, mso many out there that have little or no backlinks and still go for high prices?? Guess there are still a lot of people out there without much of a clue!!

I hate the time it takes when at auction, yes I am impatient!! I much prefer going to a broker but even they are hard to find although I am happy to pay that bit more as I know my time is worth more than the extra few $$

It's just a matter of getting a process down and then automating it... It's just information, and if you can click on something in a browser window, you can teach tools to click on the same things...

I recently bought a PR4 and everything checked out perfect. But a couple weeks after buying it and starting to build it out its been deindexed!

Anyone know if I am able to get it reindexed if the pagerank will still be intact?

    Good Luck!

In my experience, it is more cost effective to move on and purchase a new domain rather than try and rescue the de-indexed version. I do throw up some unique content before letting it sit, but its generally pretty hard (again IME) to bring it back.

I find most of the time it will regain PR, get a shit load of content on the homepage, like 5 1k posts over a week and it should come back. Sometimes it doesn't but always worth a shot!

Was it deindexed or did it just lose it's visible PR in the toolbar?

You'll probably find that if you add content the visible PR will come back in a day or 2. :)

I gave up on trying to do it myself. Its a waste of time I think. find someone who sells them and just pay the extra $ then get on with life. In the time you spend trying to get one yourself you could have build a shite load of backlinks or written a few good articles

Exactly. There are people doing it full time, pay them a few bucks and do what you know best.

Yes agreed, if you're buying just a few sites.......

Yesterday I was looking at a new niche with 80k EXACT searches in the UK alone, with a £3.50 CPC.

I noticed a 4 month old site on page 1 who has heavily been doing HPBL's. He has about 300 PR4 or higher sites, and clearly they have helped for a highly competitive niche!

When i analysed the backlinks of his backlinks....... I couldn't believe how bad they were. I wouldn't pay $10 for any of his PR4+ backlink sites. I mean seriously they were terrible. If the toolbar showed PR0 rather than PR6 for these sites I wouldn't disbelieve it!

So it seems to be that even really bad HPBL's still work.......

Needless to say (given I have access to my own high quality network), that I've already found an aged domain to buy, and will be entering that niche before the week is out! :)

The question is: did he rank because he had 300 different domains pointing at him, domains with a few aged backlinks. Or, did he rank because of the PR?

You can buy 300 articles on multiple platforms, build links to them - strong & mass, and have the same result. This way, you won't marry the provider and save a few bucks in the long term.

You'll you can find some brokers on DP. I know most of them are crap, but its the 1% that are geniune that makes it worthy. When you find a few good brokers you can get their lists when they have new domains.

Buing expired domains is pain. They are way overpriced these days.

I have developed an automated domain auction sniper.

You set filters such as domain extension, number of backlinks, PR range, domain lenght, etc.. max price.
And it works 24/7 bidding at the last moment and sniping domains for me.

Obviously such program in hands of many people would drive the market crazy (the prices for PR5 are already redicoulous)
that's why I keep it private.

If I decided to release it, how much would you guys pay for such service?
