Ok..here is what is going on..for the last 2 months..every single exact match domain I buy and try to rank ..go's no where !

They all start off getting indexed most of the time in less than a hour..but never rank.

1. I have a shared host account

2. I buy domains from Go Daddy

3. Most are exact match..if not they just have an x or a.. v at the end.

4. I know seo....I'm not a newbie :-)

I think that Google may be watching the new domain registrations...and for some reason does not want my sites listed in the results..but for some reason Indexes them..I know this sounds crazy !..but It's what I think is going on...never ever had this problem before...please HELP !

There's a new kid on the block, FreeBlog Links that will hopefully one day rival ALN. I've been beta testing the setup and it has a lot of potential. Plus the guys respond to suggestions and input from users and implement those suggestions where possible. I'll ask them to start are thread here ( note: seems BLF is having nameserver issues, so offline)

These are the main features that I like about the system and why I think it should garner support from those already using ALN or thinking of using ALN.

1) Points are based on a weekly system, not daily. Unused points roll over to the next week and accumulate to a max of 3 x your point allowance
2) Proper scheduling, not like ALN's next day "stack" scheduling
3) Ability to throttle submissions between 5 -20/day. So if you have a new site that you don't want to blast with links you can just dribble the links to it daily**
4) You can select how many times to submit a post, instead of having to repaste. **
5) No PR0 sites. Gregs working on a system for sites that lose PR, to make it worthwhile for site owners to keep the sites in the system and not purge links on the sites

At the moment there's only 124 sites in the system, with 21 of those PR4 & 1 PR5

You can add sites already registered with ALN, but best IMO to add new sites, so not as to duplicate the ALN network.

Anyway, I think it's worth giving these guys a go. They're super responsive, and keep you in the loop as to what's happening on the network and address any bugs found pretty much straight away.

And no, I've no financial interest in FB, just giving the guys a plug, as I'd like to see a viable alternative to ALN, so as not to be reliant on one network that becomes a single point of failure. This last week with ALN has clearly demonstrated the need for another network. Not taking anything away from Maulana's work over the past year or so, which has been fantastic, but when you're reliant on just one system, you become "hostage" to the systems reliability and the network owners whims.

Huge ranking drop for domains on BMR

I'm concerned about my BMR link-building and I wonder what other people have noticed. Has anyone experienced a dramatic drop in rank for your sites being worked on BMR?

I ask for three reasons:

1. A few of my sites that are in BMR have had certain keywords sink like a stone. I'm talking #1, 2, 3 one day (and for many months), and then BAM, the next day no rank at all. Sort of thing that makes your heart stop a little.

2. At practically the same time, BMR announces a temporary cut-off of new subscriptions.

3. AND at the same time, BMR announces a new policy that it will no longer allow non-indexed or de-indexed domains in customer projects, and that it's removing existing links to such sites.

So, something is going on and I'm quite worried. I'm asking the members here at Traffic Planet what your opinion is, and if you've experienced anything similar recently.

Myself and a programmer have just finished building my Godaddy Pagerank, MozRank, Page and Domain Authority online scraper. This has now been uploaded to my server.

The scraper will list the last 7 days worth of expiring domains at Godaddy Auctions, grading them into PageRank. Added to this are all of SeoMoz functions - backlinks, Page and Domain Authority (with and without www.), as well as MozRank.

*** Under each column name there is a box named "filter". Here you can filter the listing. So, with PR you can just type in 5 and hit enter and only PR5's will be shown. Same with the Domain column - if you put in a keyword it will just show domains including the keyword, or if you type com, info, org etc it will just show the chosen domain extension. ***

So far, these above functions work.

However there are a few bugs:
- The fake Pagerank option doesnt work well at all. We will be changing this so that you can click on the domain name and it will open as info:domain.com in Google search so you can check yourself.
- Where N/A is shown concerning the Backlinks column. This can be reloaded if you click on the N/A.
- Concerning the Backlink column, this is again taken from SeoMoz. There needs to be a column for the domain with and without www., since on checking the backlink results are also affected in this way.
- Will also be looking at installing a domain Age column as well.

Through more and more research into High PR networks and expiring domains, it would seem that Page and Domain Authority play a major role in the power of these domains. A lot of us here seem to agree that High PR domains with high PA and DA are the correct way forward. This is what this scraper is ideally for. Reviving my year old site?

I'm looking to revive a year old site(PR2) that I haven't touched since last April or May. It has about 25 pages of content and around 5000 links(blog comments, directory submissions, article submissions, social bookmarks, etc) or so.

Two of my target pages(both medium competition keywords that get around 6000 exact match searches/month) that used to bring quite a bit of traffic have dropped (main page from #1 to #2-#4, target inner page from #1 to #5-#7), so I'm trying to boost them back up.

I'd like to start building links again, but not entirely sure what's "safe" in light of all the recent rumblings around blog networks and HPBLs. Should I use some of the blog networks out there while adding more content, or just add more content and not build any new links for now?

Blog Commenting Another Experiment

So the general accepted wisdom is that mass low quality blog commenting on your money site will kill it so that it never sees the light of day again.

Maybe not........

So I found a name with 5k exact searches and looked for a site I could test on without adversely affecting anybody. Google rated the competition low.

I found a Podunk high school site that was a PR2 that had a staff page where one of the teachers had a matching name and the page was a PR1

I figured this somewhat matched the profile of a money site with low to medium competition that had been around for awhile and had a fair number of links.

I also figured that if for some reason the staff page dropped from its original ranking of 102 to not ranking at all it really would not matter to anyone. or cost anyone any money.

So I used this url for a week that ended last Sat the 21st. to test my harvested urls to see which ones actually came up with live posts.

Over the seven day period the url received just over 250k links that tested positive in scrapebox as found. ( not posted but found)

These links have not been cleaned other than to check to see if the link was actually found. No cleaning out of high obls, no follow, porn, or any of the other "negative" factors.

Before the test started the url was ranked #102

This morning when I checked (5 days since the last link was posted) the url was now ranked #7

I will be checking it daily for a couple of weeks to see what happens and will report back if and when it drops back off the charts.

OK, so I've been doing SEO for a client for a few months, rankings were up around page 1 and 2. Then, Dec 29, 2011 ALL rankings dropped, mostly beyond 200, and half not in top 500. Guess it's the -50 penalty.

So I went nuts, making a shiteload of changes to the site, robots.txt, using noindex/nofollow rules on categories/tags/authors etc. Continued ALN links, but nothing else really, until about a month ago, and then used mostly Wikis, Press Releases, and some social bookmarking. Kept waiting, and still...nothing.

So then, via G Webmaster Tools, file a reconsideration request, stating that there's nothing malicious going on with the site, it's updated daily, nothing sketchy going on. See below message I sent to client, which quotes G's reply...

"Hi #####,

See below email from Google, which is in your webmaster's account. My take on it, is they're not telling the full story, as it's very strange that http://www.######.com was ranking on page 1 and 2 until December 29th - where ALL keywords dropped to 200+. And then, as of Feb 10th, ALL keywords are above 50!

And it just so happens that the message sent to your webmaster's tools account was received on...February 10, 2012 =)

Wordpress backup

I just won an auction on Namejet.. it was PR5 when I got it - due to an account mix up it took me 3 days to get access to it to make the whois private. I chked in Rankchecker.com - its saying the PR can't be verified! in the SEO plugin for chrome the PR is Zero.

Could the lag time between winning auction and a couple days between transfer/Whois be the culprit?
Will I somehow get the PR back - when I remove the stock network solutions page? and Private the Whois?

This domain is 8 years old.. so it has some links..

IF not it was an expensive lesson.

There are a number of non-English links (to be expected) and I can only assume what is written there is high quality and relevant to the original page - clearly a lot of time has been spent going through the content of the page and making sure relevance is there.

One thing I wasn't so sure about is that a number of the comments come from wiki pages rather than blogs. 4 of the wiki links also come from subdomains of the same domain. Nonetheless he delivered some extra links that more than make up for these minor 'issues' and regardless of this the links were placed with the correct anchor text on pages with the PRs that were promised.

All in all a top notch service that is worth the extra. It's too early to make any comment in the way of results but I look forward to them. I know that a number of the pages haven't been cached by Google but all of the ones I checked so far had been cached at some point this month. Furthermore Google doesn't tend to react instantly to such things these days and my website garners natural links almost continuously so it's difficult to attribute anything to one particular service.

And a final note - very friendly and approachable guy and very good to deal with. He also seems to have a genuine interest in things and is not just there to take your money. Highly recommended.

Recently I had read something interesting about twitter, its about using twitter as a indexing tool. I had done a quick test with few wiki links. I had selected wiki links for this test as it is little difficult to get indexed. This result is amazing for following reasons

Hey Guys,

I wanted to brainstorm ideas and mash them all together to provide a list of various ways to attract new customers to use your SEO services on a local scale (not like the for sale page in traffic planet).

For me, it has been a cross over from my main business which is Computer IT Support. One thign has led to another and I have managed SEO campaigns for customers with huge success for local and state wide keywords.

I would like to hear peoples ways and methods of how they are looking to get new clients on board from around your local area and get your foot in the door.

One way I am about to test out this week is to choose 10 different industries, and search google for those specific search terms related to their industry. Contact the people on page 2 and 3 and advise them of their postition in google and to offer a free consultation/evaluation for them and also offer to come out and meet them in person.

Not sure it will work very well but its cheap and super easy to why not!

What are your thoughts?

I decided to run a test where I would put 3 articles of content on the WP site, change the theme from default, then hit it up with 500 ALN posts over a few days and see what happens.

It's generally said that your rankings won't fluctuate too much with doing this so it's interesting to see what happens here.

On 1 that didn't link back, I checked and the comment was actually pushed off on another page. With blog comments, backlink checkers aren't always accurate for this reason, however the comment was pushed to a page with 0 PR.
Overall I am satisfied with the service. The comments were tailored toward each blog which should increase stick rate. I am happy with the # of unique domains, but would have liked to see all PR5 and PR4's instead of the few scattered N/A's and 0's.

Tiered Linking Question - Anchor text

Hi all,

I'm in the process of setting up my Tier 2 links to point to some high PR links that i've created as part of my Tier 1. I was just wondering if I should use the same anchor text as Tier 1 and Tier 2, or if I should use different anchors between the Tiers?

My thinking is if I have an established sites that already has lots of links that it would be ok to use the same anchor. But low competition keywords where I don't have many links should probably be different.

Just curious what others do.

I have a website that is ranking for a specific product. These are the following keywords it ranks in google:

In my content I've added internal links, could this reduce the conversion? For example in my article about product within the body I will add (Read product scam here) linking product scam to another internal page in my site. I had good conversions last month 2 sales out of 111 clicks.

I've added Favicon, and exit page this month. The exit page tells the visitor of how to get the product free but I'm getting more clicks but no conversion. This Month I have a total of 191 clicks but no conversion. I get about 15-20 visitors a day, I know it's not much but the keyword is targeted since it's a specific product. Help

Does Google Penalize Your Site If Your Link Network Gets Deindexed

I started this thread because there was a lot of chatter on another thread about whether sites were penalized by Google after the HPBL networks that they were getting links from got de-indexed.

Guys, here is a direct snippet from Matt Cutts Blog. This was from an old post from 2006.

I’d like to address those two points. I can confirm that Google has removed traffic-power.com and domains promoted by Traffic Power from our index because of search engine optimization techniques that violated our webmaster guidelines at http://www.google.com/webmasters/guidelines.html. If you are a client or former client of Traffic Power and your site is not in Google, please see my previous advice on requesting reinclusion into Google’s index to learn what steps to take if you would like to be reincluded in Google’s index.

Here is a more recent snippet of Google’s policy on duplicate content taken from this page on Google’s Webmaster Central. I realize people aren't questioning about duplicate content, but this post serves as proof that some penalties come in the form of demoted rankings and not just total de-indexation.

In the rare cases in which Google perceives that duplicate content may be shown with intent to manipulate our rankings and deceive our users, we’ll also make appropriate adjustments in the indexing and ranking of the sites involved. As a result, the ranking of the site may suffer, or the site might be removed entirely from the Google index, in which case it will no longer appear in search results.

Google has been in the business of penalizing blatant link manipulation for years. When Matt Cutts comes out and admits publicly that they will take action against link networks, and even go so far as to deindex those sites completely, why would it be any surprise or even be questionable whether or not you were hit with a penalty? It seems apparent to me that if you were ranking well before joining a HPBL and then immediately after that network gets deindexed your site drops many pages lower in the SERPs, that is a pretty good indication that some kind of penalty has been levied against you. This is especially true when so many of the affected sites experience the same radical drop in ranking. That penalty could be done algorithmically on a small scale and not necessarily manually site by site. That penalty could be keyword based on the page level and not intended to deindex anything other than the network itself. And there is no guarantee that Google is going to notify you about it. Why would they? It would make it easier for you to understand how they identify manipulation.

In the grand scheme of things, does it matter whether it is an algorithmic penalty, manual penalty, link velocity penalty or not a real penalty at all? Nope... Your pages aren't ranking anymore and it sucks regardless of why it happened. Time to get back to business.

I was wondering what the pro's and con's would be regarding setting up a private network with a group of people. For example, what if 20 people got together and contributed 5 blog sites each into the network, consisting of PR3-6 sites. This would make it a rather inexpensive investment to get started, and it would open up links on 100 high PR blogs. Sort of like a private ALN network, yet of higher quality. These sites would all have to be required to be set up on separate class C IP's with individual name servers and privacy. Each article posted could be spun, just as long as it comes from a high quality spin and makes sense so in case it is manually reviewed by "GOD", it will pass muster. Is it possible for something like this to work? I'd be interested in hearing some opinions about this. I have been thinking about this for a while, not knowing how this would work out in the real world.

What is your refund policy?

Do you give out reports?
